The Executive Secretary of the GCF Task Force, Carlos Aragon, met yesterday in Brasilia with the Governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, and the Secretary of the Environment, Eduardo Taveira.
The group met to discuss the next GCF Task Force Annual Meeting, which will be held in Manaus in February 2022. This will be the 12th Annual Meeting of the GCF Task Force and will aim to find effective ways to combat illegal deforestation and forest fires, reduce poverty, and generate sustainable development opportunities for the Amazonian states and other GCF Task Force member states.
Together with the Amazonas State Government, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic indicators to ensure the event can take place safely.
