Mauren Lazzaretti is the Mato Grosso State Secretary for the Environment since January 2019 and is the Chair of The State’s Councils for the Environment, Water Resources and Fisheries. Started to work in the forest sector in 2001. Her experience in the environmental area and public management includes previous responsibilities at the State Secretariat for the Environment, acting as Deputy-Secretary for Environmental Licensing and Water Resources between 2010 to 2012 and 2016 to 2017. Mauren is a specialist in tax law, environmental examination and auditing and Civil Procedures. In her legal career, she was vice-president of the Environment Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association between 2013 and 2016 and chaired the same committee in 2016/2018. Chaired the GCF Task Force in Brazil in 2019 to 2021 and is the current Chair of the Brazilian Association of Subnational Environmental Entities – ABEMA
