As the Amazon and many other parts of the world’s forests, continue to face catastrophic fires, the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force is launching its 14th Annual Meeting in Pucallpa, Ucayali, Peru today to bring together policy makers, Indigenous Peoples and local community leaders, nonprofit and funding partners, and public and private sector actors for a week of intense dialogue, on-the-ground technical exchanges, field visits, and relationship-building to co-construct a new forest economy.
Our first order of business, focused on our most important pillar – people and communities – starts today through the annual gathering of our Global Committee of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.
Follow our full agenda and stay tuned for more as the week progresses!
Thank you to all of our partners and supporters!
