Gilmer Wilson Horna Corrales, governor of the department of Amazonas, Peru, was born on October 7, 1964 in a small farming village called Santo Tomas. The son of a family of farmers, from an early age he dedicated himself to entrepreneurship to help his family get ahead, becoming a successful businessman in his country. In his native land, he has a farm dedicated to the conservation of Amazonian forests as well as the cultivation of plants in danger of disappearing due to indiscriminate logging. In addition to being a businessman, he is a philanthropist who has dedicated years of his life to social work, supporting with his own money the construction of schools, health centers, drinking water networks, among other basic services for life.As current governor of Amazonas, he has the firm vision of turning the department into a friendly and environmentally friendly territory, with long-term sustainability and prosperity.
